SIMPLIFYING CBCT INTERPRETATION

Radiology Reports

A radiology report provides a dentist with detailed diagnostic information about a patient's oral and maxillofacial structures. It helps in:

  1. Detecting Dental Issues – Identifies cavities, bone loss, infections, cysts, tumors, and other abnormalities that may not be visible during a physical exam.
  2. Assessing Tooth and Bone Health – Evaluates bone density, root health, and jawbone structure for conditions like periodontal disease or fractures.
  3. Treatment Planning – Assists in planning procedures such as extractions, root canals, dental implants, orthodontics, and reconstructive surgery.
  4. Monitoring Progress – Tracks healing and changes over time, particularly after treatments like root canals or periodontal therapy.
  5. Identifying Hidden Problems – Reveals impacted teeth, wisdom teeth positions, or sinus issues affecting dental health.
A radiologist interprets the X-rays or scans and provides a report to the dentist, who then uses the findings to guide treatment decisions.
